HEMEL HEMPSTEAD - Richmond's organisation was already riding high on the Flames back to back wins in the first day's actions as their second team, the Knights,
faced up to Leicester Blue Sox in the AA final.
Richmond scored early with three runs in the bottom of the first but the Blue Sox came back with a massive 10 runs in the second to force the Knights to go to the bullpen.
With Leicester enjoying a 15-5 lead after five innings, the outcome seemed like a foregone conclusion, in fact the Knights were close to a mercy-rule shortened game. However, Richmond refused to go quietly into the evening and scored a phenomenal 3,1,4 and 5 runs in the last four frames to force extra innings.
When Leicester scored 2 runs off heroic but tiring Dave Keynes on the Richmond mound to start the 10th, the Knights faced needed yet another herculean effort to stay in the game.
Blue Sox were now in bullpen territory and RP Chapman hit Manager Dan Lally and Brad Harris to bring the winning run to the plate. Gary Lam forced a seven pitch walk from Martinez, and Charlie Pratt's walk included a wild pitch which allowed Dan Lally to score from third.
Nick Osborne, whose home run tied the game in the 9th, would get another shot at heroism and was not found wanting as his double to left scored both Harris and the winning run from Lam.
