Richmond Baseball will send a mixed team with players from the Flames, Knights and the Dragons to the annual London Tournament this coming weekend.
Held in various formats and by different hosts since 1997, the 2010 London Tournament is hosted by Croydon Pirates at the Roundshaw complex in south London.
Initially founded in 1993 by the now defunct London Wolves, Croydon has been hosting the tournament since 1999 with Richmond becoming champions in 2007 beating Milton Keynes in the final.
This year sees 18 teams play on four diamonds over the weekend with the games starting at 09.30 on Saturday when Southampton take on PC Wolves from France on diamond 2 while Vatos from Holland take on Windsor on the main diamond.
Richmond's group consists of Southampton, PC Wolves, Bracknell and the GB Juniors. The joint Richmond squad will face PC Wolves at 13.00 on Diamond 1 and later the GB Juniors on the second diamond at 16.30. All games will be timed at 1h30mins and the top two teams in each group go on to the winners bracket while the other teams play for the Frank Brady trophy on day 2.
Saturday finishes with an All-Star type Home Run derby with participants from all teams and there will be food and beverage options available as well as a merchandise tent.
Please come and join the baseball action and support Richmond as they attempt to get the first trophy in what has been so far a very successful season for all teams in the club. Directions to the ground can be found
