bbfsite_logo_190x88Rain-outs have created an unbalanced look to BBF's Single A division as it draws toward the end of the regular season.

Richmond Dragons sit on top of Pool A with a 10-2 record, having clinched a play-off berth with Guildford 1 1/2 games behind on 7-2 having played 3 games fewer. Southampton Mustangs II sit another game behind Guildford on 6-3, making the August 1st clash in Guildford between the two contenders the most important game during the run-in for the final standings of Pool A.

Guildford's sweep of the Dragons in June of course mean that they hold the home field tie breaker if they manage to win all their remaining 4 games. Thanks to Richmond's wins over Southampton the Dragons would have home field advantage through the play-offs if Southampton manage to pass Guildford.

After starting well, Tonbridge (3-7) have faded and were passed by a resurging Bracknell(3-6) thanks to Tonbridge's forfeit in the July 18th fixture between the two teams.

While Richmond have been the runaway leaders all season in Pool A, the race in Pool B has been much closer.

Currently the Old Timers (5-4) sit on top thanks to a higher winning percentage, but fewer games played, than Braintree Rays(5-5). Chelmsford has struggled with numbers recently and after forfeiting to the Pyros they dropped another game to Tonbridge on July 11th putting them at 5-6. As forfeits rank as the first tiebreaker, Chelmsford would have to finish a clear game ahead of either the Rays or the Old Timers to clinch a play-off spot.

With the Dragons having played all but one game of the regular season they can sit back this weekend and follow the drama as it unfolds.
